The Birth
More and more of us, the Non Resident Indians from various parts of the
world are now visiting India, some more frequently than others. Our
generous participation in local development has made a distinguished mark
in many areas. Nevertheless though some of our experiences in India have
been pleasant and happy, many very stressful, unhappy and painful. Some of
these stressful and unhappy experiences could have been avoided or
reduced
if only we had proper information, guidance and support.

1st AGM
The first Mandhata
NRI World AGM was held on 11th January 2004 at Shree Geeta Sanskar Bhavan
in Karadi. A draft constitution was presented to the NRIs present which
was approved unanimously after making minor changes. Dahyabhai J Patel of
Walsall UK was elected its first President, Ratilalbhai B Patel of Wolverhampton UK was elected Secretary
and Ranchhodbhai C Patel of Leicester UK
was elected as treasurer for a period
of two years.

2nd AGM
The second
Mandhata NRI World AGM was held at the Miramar Hotel in Daman on 20th
January 2005. Two coaches were hired to take members and non-member NRIs
for a day outing and to attend the AGM in Daman. The coaches took off at 9.30am from Eru Char
Rasta arriving in Daman at 11.30am. Tea, coffee and biscuits were served
on arrival. The AGM took place between 12 noon and 2pm at the conference
centre. A delicious Indian and Chinese vegetarian and non vegetarian
buffet dinner with starters was served thereafter at the hotel restaurant
which was enjoyed by all. The coaches returned to Eru Char Rasta
around 8.30pm.

3rd AGM
The third Mandhata NRI World AGM was held at the Cidade De Daman Hotel in
Daman on 28th December 2005.
4th AGM
The fourth Mandhata NRI World AGM was held at Bharat Vidyalaya Karadi on
28th January 2007. |
